At 42 years old, I was night-sweating like crazy. I felt irritable and anxious, especially around my period. My eyes were changing rapidly, my skin was looser, I was gaining weight before my period, and I started getting headaches, which was abnormal for me.
It suddenly dawned on me: Is this perimenopause? YES! It was the weirdest feeling to have my body changing so much.
And as a naturopathic doctor with a busy practice who was used to having my systems and processes in place, this felt like foreign territory!
That’s when I hunkered down and learned everything I could about perimenopause, in hopes of being able to manage my changing hormones.
Seven years later, after some estrogen detox, cortisol modulation, and progesterone support, I was able to get rid of those nasty symptoms and started to feel human again. I now help other women going through this inevitable journey and feel blessed to be able to make such a difference in their lives.
