Hi! I’m Dr. Jenn...

I am a naturopathic doctor for all the super, fantastic regular people out there who are juggling families, careers, kids – balancing an awesomely rich life.

I connect the physical and emotional dots. And I make it easy and achievable. All you need is the readiness to make change.

With my analytical & scientific mindset, I want to do as thorough of an investigation on each patient that can be feasibly warranted for each individual patient. Each person is unique in their symptoms and how aggressive of testing they want, I am here to work with each person and their needs with giving my professional opinion depending on their health and situation.

I utilize a variety of lab assessment – everything from regular lab work that a conventional MD would run to more specific testing including saliva and urine hormonal and neurotransmitter testing.

Examples of the lab testing I can do depending on the needs of each case include:

lab services

Calgary Laboratory Services: Regular lab work can be ordered including but not limited to CBC, cholesterol, blood sugars, celiac screening, thyroid, iron, vitamin D, Vitamin B12 and hormone testing.

OTHER TESTING:

IgG Food Sensitivity testing: Food sensitivities can present with many common reactions such as migraines, eczema, bloating, indigestion, fatigue, IBS, weight gain or difficulty losing weight to name a few. This comprehensive test, tests for an IgG antibody response to 120 or 200 foods through doing a simple blood draw at Calgary Lab Services. For more information, click here.

Female and Male Hormonal testing: Although much of a hormonal assessment can come from us looking at the female cycle and male symptoms, sometimes saliva hormone tests can give us excellent information on where hormones levels are in the body. PMS, fertility, peri/menopause, uterine fibroids and male andropause are some conditions that could indicate saliva hormone testing. Symptoms such as hot flashes, insomnia, PMS, weight gain, depression, acne, hair growth or loss (female or male) are possible reasons to access further hormone testing.

Adrenal Stress Index (ASI) testing: I work extensively with people who are suffering from high levels of stress and its effects on their bodies. Symptoms of stress and adrenal fatigue include anxiety, fatigue, depression, light-headedness, dizzy, unable to manage though stress effectively, insomnia, low energy, low libido, blood sugar imbalances, nausea, decreased focus/concentration and low memory is often signs that the adrenal glands need support. To assess adrenal function we can look at cortisol levels throughout the day through the saliva hormone ASI test. This tests cortisol at 4 points through the day- first am, noon, 4-6pm and prior to bedtime. For more information, click here.

Neurotransmitter testing: Over the years working with anxiety, depression and ADHD I have found neurotransmitter testing can help focus in on specific supplement programs highlighting specific neurotransmitters that have shown imbalanced on a NeuroScreen urine test from NeuroScience Labs. To my knowledge, there are not many labs that do this specific testing, hence the lab I resource is in the USA. A variety of tests can monitor the major neurotransmitter tests including but not limited to Serotonin, Dopamine, GABA, Epinephrine and Norepinephrine. We can custom tailor these tests to also include female or male hormones, sleep hormones including melatonin and stress hormones like cortisol pending on each individual case. Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) testing: SIBO is getting to be more well known as a possible cause of digestive upset including conditions like IBS, heartburn/reflux, peptic ulcers, bloating, gas and food sensitivities. Other conditions can be found on this website. I have put together an extensive naturopathic program including diet and supplements to treat SIBO pending on the results of this testing. Not all digestive upset symptoms need this extensive testing, many symptoms can be treated on symptoms alone in my experience but this test might give us more detailed information to veer our treatment protocol in a specific direction.

**Please note that all lab work vary in price and are an additional cost depending on the testing done.
